Guests under a starry sky beside the telescope

Gifts · Birthdays · Groups

A night under the stars as a present — or for the whole group.

An evening at a 12-inch telescope is a present people talk about long after the wrapping paper is gone: the Moon's craters, Saturn's rings, and someone beside them to explain what they are looking at.

As a gift

An experience instead of another thing.

For a partner, a parent, a friend who has everything, a child who loves space. Tell me who it is for and roughly when; we agree the evening, and the date itself is fixed later with the person you are giving it to, on a night the weather allows.

The price is the usual one: £50 per adult and £30 for children under 16, minimum 3 people — so it works best for a couple with a friend, or a family.

Good to know

The sky can't be booked for a fixed date, so a gift evening needs a little flexibility: we pick a clear night together. Nothing is paid in advance.

Occasions

Who it is for.

  • Birthdays

A birthday evening at Newlands Corner, or the telescope at your own party — in your garden or at your venue.

  • Families and children

Children under 16 pay £30. They love the Moon and Saturn; in winter it is dark early enough even for younger ones.

  • Schools, clubs and Scouts

Cubs, Scouts, Guides, school astronomy and science clubs, home-education groups. Group prices with additional discounts — just ask.

  • Teams and companies

An unusual evening for a team or for clients, at a venue of your choice in the area. Priced per group.

A date night

Something different for two.

Looking for an unusual date night in Surrey? The minimum is 3 places, so a couple simply books 3 — or brings a friend. Bring a flask of something hot and a blanket.
